Free Crochet Baby Booties Patterns

Crochet baby booties are one of the most-gifted handmade items for a reason — they're fast to make, they look adorable, and everyone at the baby shower will ask where you got them. If you're new to crochet, the Ribbon Baby Booties pattern is a great place to start. It's worked flat in rows — no working in the round — which makes it much easier to follow if you're not yet comfortable with circular construction. Add a ribbon bow at the end and you have a gift that looks far more complex than it actually is.

For something a little more structured, our Little Baby Booties pattern has a shaped sole and a ribbed cuff that stays up on tiny feet. It's available in three sizes — 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months — so you can make a set that grows with the baby. The Mary Jane Baby Shoes are our most unique design: a one-piece construction with an ankle strap that gives them that classic Mary Jane look.

Most bootie patterns use DK weight yarn and a 4.0mm hook, which makes them quick to work up — typically under 2 hours per pair once you've done the first one. Cotton or soft acrylic both work well.
